Hi guys!

There is small group this Tuesday (2/28) at 6PM in the Hospitality House (4 Sherry Rd.) We will have dinner and continue our study on Matthew 15. Matthew is a great book full of interesting stories that, like the rest of the Bible, reveal a lot of about Jesus' character and provide a great opportunity for us to discuss how those stories apply to our everyday lives. Come by!!

Also, there is PRAYER! every Wednesday at 10:30AM and Friday at 11AM. We meet in room 2124 in the Union. Feel free to email any prayer requests you may have and we will make sure to include them during our meetings.

We have a few special events happening this semester, which include: Movie Night, Game Night, and Community Service! Stay tuned for more information and opportunities to get involved.

Hello hello!

I just wanted to remind everyone that we are having small group on Tuesday at 6PM at 4 Sherry Rd . We will have our first "Make Your Own Pizza Night" followed by a study on Matthew 14. So please come ready to have lots of fun, eat good food, hang out with the coolest people around, AND learn about God's word! It doesn't get any better than that.

Also, our Lent small group will start THIS Thrusday (2/23) at 4ishPM. It will take place at 901 Peoples Ave. Apt. #3. Please stop by even if you haven't responded!

We will have Prayer on Wednesday at 10:30AM and Friday at 11AM in room 2124 in the Union. In case you were wondering, this room is located on the hallway right before the McNeill room. As you enter the Union, you make a right and it will be right next to the restrooms. I hope to see everyone there. Let's get together and discover the power of communal prayer!!

Hello everyone!

Our prayer meetings for this semester will be every Wednesday (10:30-11:30AM) and Friday (11-12ishPM) in room 2124 in the Union.

Feel free to bring your own lunch on Fridays as some of us can stay afterwards to eat!!

I pray that we grow closer as a group and use these prayer meetings to get closer to God individually and as a community of graduate students desiring to see God's glory revealed on our campus.

We will start officially tomorrow (2/17).

Extra Announcements:

-We have an additional small group that will last six weeks (Lent to Easter) this semester. It is a study based on the book "The Hole in Our Gospel" by World Vision's president Richard Stearns! This study will focus on Poverty & Justice. It will tentatively take place on Thursdays at 4PM. However, if this time does not work for most people it can definitely be moved to another day/time. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED! This is such a great opportunity to learn more about God's heart and our responsibility to be His ambassadors here on earth. We need to order materials as soon as possible so please email me if you'd like to be part of this study!!

- PRAYER MEETINGS! We will continue to have lunch prayer meetings on Fridays at noon. In case you can't make it on Fridays there will be an additional opportunity for us to gather as a group and pray. I will set up a Doodle to find out what the most convenient time and day will be. Stay tuned!

If you're looking to get involved in some Hurricane Irene relief work, look no further! My church, Grace Fellowship, is assembling a group to go down to the Schoharie Valley THIS Saturday, Sept. 10 at 8:30am. Everyone is meeting in the church parking lot (20 Delatour Rd., Latham NY). Wear work clothes and shoes/boots. They will provide latex gloves and masks. If possible, bring working gloves, hammers, pry bars, or flat shovels.

The need is great! Let's step up to meet it!

Roundtrip Distance ~ 5 miles, easy climb

Priscilla's Australia Missions Trip!

As many of you know, I have been given the amazing opportunity to volunteer overseas through a global missions project in Australia this summer. I will be partnering with the Mt. Druitt Church, serving the Australian Aboriginal community, with graduate students of InterVarsity, June 6-24.

Some of the exciting service in Australia includes:

Working in a medical clinic for the Aboriginal community
Leading a vacation Bible school
Christian leadership training for including mentoring
Tutoring for youth
Visiting homes in the Mount Druitt community
Partnering with Mount Druitt Indigenous Church for Cultural Days

Starting Tuesday & Wednesday, GCF small groups will reconvene!

Small groups will happen weekly during the semester, you have two options: Tuesday or Wednesday night. Both small groups will include a yummy dinner, bible study, and prayer.

This semester we are studying the book of Isaiah. Here's a sneak peak from the study guide:

"Why should we study Isaiah? We should study Isaiah both because it is part of Holy Scripture and because it is great literature. We should study Isaiah because it is very frequently quoted or alluded to in the New Testament. We should study these passages because trusting God is still essential and troubled times are our lot too."

As you're finishing up things for the end of fall semester 2010, let me draw your attention to some things that you can look forward to in the coming days and weeks:

This Thursday: We've been invited ....The Chapel + Cultural Center is pleased to present: "O Antiphons": A Musical Event of Advent Preparation, performed by the Students of the Rensselaer Newman Music Ministry with Ben Bishop, Andrew Calcutt, and special guest Cindy Pollsen, musical Director of Mercy House Chapel at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

This concert, led by Jim Fry, Director of the Rensselaer Newman Foundation Music Ministry, will be held This Thursday, December 16th at 7:30 PM. Admission is FREE and open to the public. Based on the hymn, "O Come, O Come Emmanuel," the "O Antiphons" represent seven titles of the Messiah as prophesied in Isaiah, and, for centuries, have been part of the Liturgy of the Hours in the
final days leading up to Christmas Eve.

Come and hear this inspirational program that will feature both classical and contemporary music selections led by the young people of our community and guests!!!

Wednesdays starting in January We will be meeting at 7pm at 4 Sherry rd to do a variety of fun things:

Telos registration and contest!

Just a reminder that Telos registration is open! What is Telos, you ask? Only the best regional grad/faculty retreat in the area!! Join your fellow graduate students & faculty from all over NY/NJ to come together and retreat, eat, fellowship, and worship God!

REGISTER: The first deadline is Dec. 4th, and the cost of the retreat goes up after that, so send in your registrations today! New Christmas Bible Challenge

Hello GCF,

I know many of you participated in the Psalms challenge this semester, I hope that you were blessed that time spent with God. We will celebrate that challenge at our holiday party in December. We have a new challenge to help you "rediscover the Christmas season". Here is the description:

Start a new Christmas tradition with a non-traditional twist on the season of Advent. An ideal start date for this adventure is December 1st, while an earlier start allows a more relaxed pace. Includes reflection questions and action steps to center each day on Christ. Great for individuals, families, or small groups.

Set your plan reading start and end dates
